“Edward...” I whispered.

He smiled my favorite crooked smile, “Yes?”

“I-I want you to leave.”

He stared at me; confused.

“Come again?”

“I don’t want you here.”

“Why?” He asked, comprehension slowly coming into his eyes.

“Jacob’s coming over.” I answered, finally looking at him.

“Why is that mutt coming over here?”

“I want him.”

I could see anger flicker in his eyes, turning them black; he stood.

“You don’t want me to come back; correct?”

I nod as a tear escapes. I hear him tell Charlie goodnight and the door slam shut. Charlie knocks a little while later.

“Is everything okay with you and Edward?” He asks sitting with me on my bed.

“He’s not coming back Dad.”

“He broke up with you again?” He asked; anger showing in his voice.

I shake my head. “I broke up with him.”

He started at this, but before he could ask the doorbell rang. I jumped up and wiped my cheek. I raced down the stairs and pulled open the door. I smiled when I saw Jacob standing there. I wrapped my arms around him and breathed in his scent. He hesitantly put his arms around my waist.

“Bella?”

‘He’s gone, not coming back.”

“He left again?” He asked shaking slightly.

I vigorously shook my head. “I told him to leave.”

Jacob was silent for a while then he pulled me up hugging me tightly. I smiled at his enthusiasm.

“Jake-can’t—breathe.”

He sat me down and smiled at me.

“You’re not joking?”

I smiled, “Never again will I leave you.”

We came inside to see Charlie smiling at us. He told us he was going to bed and Jacob was welcome to spend the night; on the couch of course. We spent the night watching the TV and eventually fell asleep; I wrapped up in Jacobs arms.

I slipped into the shower smiling. The hot water ran over me and relaxed my muscles. After I washed my hair I got out and wrapped a towel around me. As I closed my door I noticed Jacob lounging on my bed. I went over to him and smiled. Shaking my head I sent water all over his face.

“Hey!” He yelled.

“Don’t you know better than to come into a girl’s room uninvited?”

He grinned up at me; his eyes eventually traveling down to the towel. I waved my hand in front of his eyes.

“Earth to Jake.”

He just grinned and I pulled him up; trying to get him out. When he stood up he wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. I smiled and kissed him back, loving the feeling of lips. I finally got him out and got dressed in ripped and faded jeans plus a tie-dyed tank-top. I found him waiting outside my door. He grabbed my hand and pulled me down the stairs.

“Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.”

We get in my truck and Jake says he is going to drive. We head out of town and we talk comfortably; asking random questions.

“What’s your favorite color?” I ask.

“Orange and blue; yours?”

“Silver and brown.”

“Favorite holiday?”

“Halloween.” I grin.

“Mine is Christmas.”

“What you like all the presents?” I tease.

He grins at me, “Maybe.”

“I have a serious question though.”

“Shoot.” I say wondering what he is going to ask.

“Why’d you give him up for me?”

I look out the window, watching the passing scenery. He took my silence as my answer and pull off the highway onto a dirt road. We drove for a minute until he stopped and turned off the engine. I got out and looked around.

“It is just past those trees.”

We walked in silence until the trees broke. I looked around………..and my breath was stolen.
